Important changes to T-Gel/Coal Tar Shampoo Prescriptions

The practice is continually reviewing prescribing to provide patients with appropriate, high quality and cost-effective medications for their conditions.  We are keen to ensure that all our patients receive the best quality treatment whilst making the best use of NHS resources available to us.

If you have been prescribed: 

• Neutrogena T-Gel (Coal tar extract) shampoo

This is due to be discontinued, therefore your next prescription will be for:

• Capasal therapeutic shampoo

This medication works in the same way as previous medicine so you should not notice any difference in its effectiveness. You should continue to take it as normal. Please finish your current medication before ordering your new medication
